FedEx Setup Instructions

To set up FedEx Online Shipping, perform the following steps:

  1. If you do not have a FedEx account, create an account by visiting FedEx.com. Click on "Register Now."
  2. If you're creating a new FedEx account, click on "Open a FedEx account." If you already have an account, click on "Use my account online."
  3. If you're creating a new FedEx account, complete the FedEx Registration form. Be sure "Open a FedEx account" is selected at the bottom of the form. FedEx will provide you with an Account Number during the registration, which will be used later.
  4. If you are not logged in to your FedEx Account, please log in. At the bottom of the page, click on "Developer Resource Center."
  5. Click on Technical Resources > FedEx Web Services for Shipping > Move to Production.
  6. Click on "Obtain Production Key" at the bottom of the page and use the settings below for the Production Key form.

    • Do you intend to resell your software: No
    • Type of FedEx web services used in integration: FedEx Web Services for Shopping. Do not check "FedEx Web Services for Office and Print."
    • Corporate Developer or Consultant: Corporate Developer.
  7. Click "Continue," accept the license agreement and complete the registration process.
  8. FedEx will send you an email containing a Production Key, Password and Meter Number.
  9. Log in to the Shopping Cart Administration Area. Click on Settings > FedEx Online Shipping. Enter your FedEx Account Number, Production Key, Production Password and Meter Number.
  10. Visit the Real-time Shipping Methods FAQ for assistance on other FedEx shipping settings. Click the Save button when you are done.
