Gift Cards

Allow customers to buy digital gift cards for others

To enable digital gift cards, follow the steps below.

1. Log in to the cart admin.
2. Click on Settings in the top menu.
3. Click on Gift Cards (Under Payment Methods)
4. Check the box "Enable Digital Gift Cards."
5. Copy and paste the HTML provided to your website.
6. Optionally set minimum and maximum rules. 
7. Click Save

Your customers will click on the "Purchase Gift Card" link where they can enter the recipient's information and the amount of the gift card. The recipient will receive an email containing their gift card code and instructions. The billing page of the cart will display a "Certificate Code" box where the gift card code can be entered.  

Set up gift card autoresponders

Autoresponders can be set up to send a confirmation email to gift card buyers and recipients. Buyers will already receive a normal order receipt by email, making the "Gift Card notice to sender" optional. The "Gift Card notice to recipient" is required so the recipient gets the digital gift card with instructions on how to use it.

To set up the "Gift Card notice to recipient" autoresponder, follow the steps below.

1. Log in to the cart admin.
2. Click on Settings in the top menu.
3. Click on Autoresponders (Under General Settings)
4. Click "Add New"
5. Select "With settings from a default autoresponder."
6. Select "Gift Card notice to recipient." 
7. Click Continue.
8. If needed, adjust the settings for the new autoresponder.
9. Click Save. 

To set up a "Gift Card notice to sender" autoresponder (optional), follow the previous steps, replacing step 6 with "Gift Card notice to sender."

Managing gift cards

Click on Gift Cards in the top menu bar to manage all of your store's digital gift cards. In this area you can:

1. View all of your store's gift cards.
2. Edit the details of any gift card. 
3. Review each gift card's order history, showing all orders that reduced the gift card balance.
4. Manually create a gift card.
