The discount settings can be found in the Cart Admin under Settings > Discounts. Click Add New to create a new discount or click Edit to edit an existing discount.
Discount Settings
Discount Description: A short description of this discount. This will only be visible to you, not your customers.
Discount Amount: The percent or dollar amount of the discount. For example, enter 10% to offer a 10% discount. Enter 2.50 to offer a $2.50 discount.
Apply Discount To:
Whole order: The discount will apply to the order subtotal.
Each item: The discount will apply to each item in an order.
Lowest priced item: The discount will apply to the lowest priced item in an order.
Single product: The discount will apply to 1 product. An "Item ID" box will display when selecting this option. Enter the product's item ID in this box.
Product category: The discount will only apply to product's in a specific category. Note: A customer code is required when applying a discount to a product category.
Shipping charge: The discount will only apply to shipping charges.
Customer Code: The text a customer can use to apply the discount. Customers can enter the code in the "Customer Code" box when viewing their shopping cart.
Case sensitive: If checked, customers are required to enter letters in the customer code exactly how you created them. For example, a customer cannot enter "Promo374" if the customer code is "promo374"
Minimum:
Order subtotal: The discount will only apply if the order subtotal is at least the minimum amount set.
Number of items ordered: The discount will only apply if the number of items ordered is at least the minimum number set.
Valid Period: The discount will only be valid during a set period of time. If you enter a "From Date" but not a "To Date," the discount will be valid from the "From Date" on. If you enter a "To Date" but not a "From Date," the discount will be valid from the date you save the discount up to the "To Date."
Enabled: Uncheck this box if you want to disable the discount but save the discount settings.
NOTE: Discounts applied to "product category" will only apply when a customer code is set.
FAQ
How do I exclude some products from discounts?
In the Cart Admin, click on Products > Edit. Scroll down to the Exceptions box and check "Exclude from discounts." Click Save.
